First Diamdel E-Auctions Completed (28/01/2008)

On Monday 28th of January 2008 the Diamdel group successfully completed the industry’s first on line auctions for rough diamonds.

Diamdel was delighted with the response to this initiative from its global customer base with auction attendance, participation and results all exceeding expectations.

Before the auction all 16 lots were made available for viewing to potential buyers in several of the world’s major diamond centres. At auction the lots were sold to 14 buyers from around the world; with bidders actively participating in Antwerp, Tel Aviv, India and the Far-east.

Neil Ventura (MD, Diamdel) said ‘we are delighted that the first auction has worked so well and in particular how we have been able to meet the needs of clients from around the world at market determined prices. We are still reviewing the learning from the auction and will be talking to the participants in order to ensure that future auctions are equally successful’.
